Our relation to God, and His relation to us probably need not be so confusing. Maybe things would be better if we would quit putting words into His mouth: "Nothing bad will ever happen to you," and "Your guardian angel will protect you from harm." It seems to me that we are setting ourselves up for a great disappointment when we set our faith on things that God has not broadcast publicly. I'm familiar with Psalm 91, but so were millions of Christians living during the Roman occupation of the First Centuries A.D., as were millions of Jews (to whom the Psalm was written in the first place) during the Nazi occupation of the 1940s. Jesus never once told His disciples that they would be free from attack. I believe it's true that many of us are often preserved so that we can perform a much-needed service to humanity, but everyone's day of demise comes eventually.Tony Harrimanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04676435184520088593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2730513785832553408.post-67370284075173923522012-08-01T18:49:56.455-05:002012-08-01T18:49:56.455-05:00Dear Tony, I agree with you, Pain and injustice ma...Dear Tony, I agree with you, Pain and injustice make every human to wonder about God'S power or sadism. I share the feeling about children. when i see them go thru those ordeals with cancer or leukemia and for nothing, they die anyways. When i see those children at africa literally starved to death, something inside my soul jumps with indignation and fury. Why? What for?
Despite the pain for things like those killing spreads, well, it happens, anybody can carry a gun, so, well. Terrorism, I understand, don't agree. But children... i cannot even try to understand.
Praying, was always an enigma for me, how it works, is personal but when it's public, is it show out? why we try to explain to God, all the circumstances and little details, are we trying to convince Him?
And why we pray if God knows everything that's going on everywhere? if we pray without stopping, are we going to change God's mind? I mean if the things are going to be like God planned already, are we going to change anything?
I'm tired of listening people saying, "that happened because people don't pray" or "that happened because they don't ask help from God.
Perhaps that is the answer to your questioning about the hotline to heaven. If everything is going to be so easy as asking and receiving, well let's all pray!!! and everything is going to change and be better in the whole world.
And i can deal with all this and more, but the children...i'll never get it.MISDIANITAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18444392035016608023noreply@blogger.com
