I've walked the stores and seen some really attractive appliances on display — but none of them plugged in; they look really pretty … but they don't work, they just offer a promise of doing the job for which they were built. Interesting world we live in.

Tony H.Tony Harrimanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04676435184520088593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2730513785832553408.post-84925320863478924312013-01-30T09:03:42.534-06:002013-01-30T09:03:42.534-06:00Amen brother! Sometimes, I feel like I need to get some duct tape and tape the my plug to the wall. The devil is always trying to unplug us (or rather get us to unplug ourselves) by offering up all sorts of distractions. Paul explained it better than any preacher ever could:

“For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.” (Romans 8:3-5 KJV)

Jesus came in the likeness of sinful flesh, just like the body that we adorn, yet he overcame that sinful flesh and never sinned, thereby fulfilling the righteousness of the law. Now, He is offering to work that same powerful miracle in us. But HE is the One doing the work. We just have to get out of the way, PLUG IN and let Him Juice us up with His life changing power!

As you have said in so many words, our only part in this deal is our submission to His will, the study of His word and consistent, effectual prayer. He can’t make us do that. We have to make the choice to participate in those things. But He will help us do them and He will do the rest. He does the changing – thank God!

Thanks for sharing that thoughtful article. That was a good one! Back in the seventies Jeff Beck named one of his albums, “Plug me into something”, but I’m with you and I say, “Plug me into Jesus!”

Kim S.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
